Hourly work and fixed fees can share one invoice: 12 × $85 = $1,020, 2 × $240 = $480 and 1 × $150 = $150, for $1,650.00. Write descriptions your client will recognise from the brief, not internal shorthand.
The details that matter
Business and client fields
Include your name or trading name, an email address and anything your client's accounts team asks for. For the client, use the exact business name and the contact who approves payment.
Due dates
Set a real date rather than a vague term. If you agreed 14 days, an invoice issued on the 4th is due on the 18th. A date is harder to overlook than a phrase.
Taxes and discounts
